Centered around Main Street, Rocky Mount has vibrant early 20th century buildings. Exploring the city was a dream for a photographer. Few people milled around as I walked the streets at lunchtime.

Rocky Mount is a city in Nash and Edgecombe Counties in North Carolina. 

Many interesting details caught my eye: painted carousel horses, chess game built into a street table for pedestrians, colorful paint on buildings, ornamental molding, differing brickwork. Rocky Mount is not a city I will forget anytime soon.
