I have never been a jewelry person, but many put great value in jewelry. For this series I photographed a tangible material representing family. A diamond necklace holds less value for me than if that necklace belonged to my mother 0r grandmother. And when someone in my family wears a piece of jewelry, it creates a visual memory.

The COVID pandemic highlighted many things, including what is most important to us in this world. Riches or poverty, togetherness or aloneness, have always held meaning, but it is up to each individual to give something value.
